Getting started with .NET in VS Code
- Install the .NET SDK.
- Install Visual Studio Code (VS Code) from the official website.
- Open VS Code and Install the official C# Dev Kit extension
- Open the command palette, click on .NET: New Project…, then Console App
- On the folder selector, select the parent directory; then, for this walkthrough set ConsoleApp1 as the name for the current project and click on + Create Project
- On the VS Code explorer, right click on the ConsoleApp1 directory, and then on Open in Integrated Terminal
- On the integrated terminal, type
dotnet run.
Congrats 🎉, you just run your first .NET application.
